Our Beliefs:
At Fire Mountain Worship Center, we are bold and open with what we believe. We will always preach the uncompromising Word of Faith. Below is an outline of our Statement of Faith.
THE SCRIPTURES - The Bible is the inspired Word of God and our infallible guide to conduct, faith and doctrine. (2 Timothy 3:16,
1 Thessalonians 2:13)
THE GODHEAD - There is one true God who reveals Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of the universe and the Redeemer of mankind. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Matthew 28:19, Luke 3:22) The Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten son of god and has existed with the father from the beginning. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born a virgin, led a sinless life, and performed miracles. He was cruicified, died and was buried as a sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended into heaven and sits today at the right hand of the father. (Matthew 1;23, Hebrews 7:26, Acts 2;22, 1 Corinthians 15:3, Matthew 28:6, acts 1:9,11)
MAN, HIS FALL AND REDEMPTION - Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of god, but through Adam's disobedience, sin came into the world. Jesus Christ, the son of god, was menifested to undo the works of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to restore man's relationship with god and his authority on the earth. (Romans 5:14, 1 John 3:8) Jesus' sacrifice paid the penalty for our sins and provides right standing with God and makes healing and prosperity available for all who receive Him as Lord and Savior. Salvation is the gift of God and cannot be earned. It is received by believing and declaring faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. The believer is then born again - a new creation - and possesses eternal life. (Isaiah 53:4-5, Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 10:9-10, John 3:3-5, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 1 John 5:12)
MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SPIRIT - The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. he indwells, guides, instructs, and empowers the believer for Godly living and service. the Holy spirit works today through the spiritual gifts: The Word of Wisdom, The Word of Knowledge, The Gift of Faith, The Gifts of Healings, the Working of Miracles, The Gift of Prophecy, The Discerning of Spirits, Diverse Kinds of Tongues, and The Interpretation of Tongues. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
WATER BAPTISM - Baptism by water immersion is a biblical commandment and should be experienced by all believers. It is a symbol of the Christian's identification with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection. (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39) The following recommendation recarding the water baptism formula is adopted; to wit: "On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen."
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT - Baptism in the Holy Spirit was the normal experience of the early Christians and remains the right and privilege of all believers today. this experience is received after the New Birth and is accompanied by the initial sign of speaking in tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself give the language and ability. (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:1-7,
Acts 2:1-4)
SANCTIFICATION - We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and by the work of the Holy spirit which begins at the New Birth and should remain a progressive work throughout one's lifetime. Growth in sanctification will produce personal holiness, and purity of heart and life. (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 2 Peter 3:18, 2 Corinthians 3:18, Philippians 3:12-14, 1 Corinthians 1:30)
DIVINE HEALING - It is God's will for believers to walk in wholeness - spirit, soul, and body. Healing is provided for the humand body and soul in the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus and is the privilege of every born again believer. It can be received through any of the following means: the prayer of faith, the laying on of hands, speaking the Word, using/receiving the gifts of healings, and the taking of Communion. (James 5:14-15, Mark 16:18, Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 11:23-24)
RESURRECTION OF THE JUST AND THE RETURN OF OUR LORD - The angels said to Jesus' disciples, "...this same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven." When He comes, "the dead in Christ will rist first; After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." We believe His return in imminent. (Acts 1:11, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) Following the Tribulation, Jesus will return to earth as the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, he will reign a thousand years. (Revelation 5:10, Revelation 20:6)
HELL AND ETERNAL RETRIBUTION - The one who physically dies in his sins without accepting Jesus is hopelessly and eternally lost in the lake of fire and, therefor, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. There is a literal lake of fire. In describing the length of punishment of the damned, the terms "eternal" and "everlasting," carry the same meaning of endless existence as when they are used to describethe duration of joy and ecstasy of believers in the Presence of God. (Heberews 9:27, Revelation 19:20)
COMMUNION - Observance of the Lord's Supper is the right and duty of all believers. (1 Corinthians 11:17-32)
